Effect van chirurgische correctie van de spastische hand bij kinderen met een spastische hemiplegie op reikgedrag en handvaardigheid 

In dit longitudinale pilotonderzoek wordt het effect van chirurgische correctie van de spastische hand bij adolescenten met een spastische hemiplegie op reiken en handvaardigheid geëvalueerd. Hiertoe worden kinderen vanaf preoperatief tot één jaar postoperatief onderzocht m.b.v. simultane EMG en videoregistratie tijdens gestandaardiseerde reik- en grijptaken.

Effect of surgical correction of spastic hand in children with spastic hemiplegia on reaching behaviour and manual activity 

This pilot project aims at studying longitudinally the effect of surgical correction of the spastic hand in adolescents with spastic hemiplegia on reaching and manipulation. To this end children are assessed preoperatively till 1 year postoperatively by means of simultaneous recording of video and multiple surface EMGs of armmuscles during standardized upper extremity tasks.
